Mr. Galvin's Glider Project
Students in Mr. Galvin's Technology class create Gliders based on a NASA Scientists design. Mr. Galvin points out that careful measurement and engineering need to go into their work in order to maximize success of their flight. During the project students learn the four forces of flight: Thrust, Drag, Weight, and Lift. Understanding these principles combined with precision in the building phase of the project allows the students to master/maximize the flight of their glider. Galvin also added that they put a personal twist on their own glider giving the project added creativity. Nice Job!!

Collaboration Tools
Learning to collaborate with others and connect through technology are essential skills for the 21st Century.
1. Screencast-O-Matic – Is a free online screen recorder program. It’s an easy way to make an instant screen capture with audio of your computer desktop and share with students. "It’s useful if a student is struggling with an assignment and needs a reteach,” “or if you need to collaborate with a colleague on a project or lesson."
2. Google Drive (formerly Google Docs) - Google’s free online document creation and editing app or web tool is popular among business professionals, colleagues, teachers, instructors and students that want to collaborate “real time” online. Google Drive is a great way to share and edit documents online inside and outside of the classroom.
3. Google+ Hangouts - This free app or web tool lets users connect with friends, students, professors, and others who want to “hang out” online. The app’s video chat and group chat allows you to collaborate with one person or several people at once. Great for collaboration for co-teaching, lesson planning, or just a convenient way to host a virtual meeting.
